Information regarding the Adopt-A-Shelf Program is outlined below:

Thank you for considering participation in Southbury Food Bank’s Adopt-A-Shelf Program.  We are so excited about how this plan is impacting our shelves and helping our clients!  We have initiated this in an effort to sustain our ever increasing food demands while allowing local businesses, churches, community organizations, and even local families to play a vital role in keeping  food on our shelves each month.

How it works

We will provide you with an available shelf that you can stock each month (for example,  peas, rice, peanut butter, etc.).  You will be responsible for collecting 40 (or more!) cans/jars/boxes of that item each month through donations from your staff, congregation, patients, clients, customers, scouts, students, etc.  You will then assign a volunteer to come and stock your shelf each month.  A label will be placed on your shelf identifying you as that shelf’s sponsor.

Stocking takes place the 2nd Saturday of each month from 11:30am-12:30pm.
