SFB Client Information

April 8, 2020

SFB will begin a pre-packaged bag program starting April 15th. You should have received a letter outlining details of your pickup day/time OR if you are scheduled for a delivery. You MUST arrive during this time in order to be served. We are assisting over 160 households and this is the most efficient way to serve you.

 STAY IN YOUR CAR when you arrive. A volunteer will approach to obtain your client code.

 Unlock your car or open your trunk (from within your car) and a volunteer will place bag(s) in your backseat or trunk.

 Your bag will only contain non-perishable food items/paper products. There will be a giftcard included for purchase of meat items at Shoprite.

 There can be no substitutions/exchanges/returns. We are doing our very best and our current inventory is limited.

 Vouchers for milk/eggs and deli will be included in your bags on the first pickup of each month. Large families will continue to get these vouchers each visit.

If you have any questions, please email us at southburyfoodbank@gmail.com or call
203-721-0377. We look forward to getting back to normal operations, but until we can I thank you for your understanding during this challenging time.

March 31, 2020

It is of utmost importance to protect the health of you, our client, as well as our volunteers and community at large. For this reason, SFB will continue suspension of onsite operations at the food bank until April 15th. Due to the extreme generosity of our Southbury residents during this unprecedented time, we are able to include another Shoprite giftcard for you to assist with your grocery needs during the first two weeks of April. Giftcards may NOT be used for tobacco/alcohol purchases.

You will also find your monthly vouchers for milk and eggs as well as the deli/hotbar coupon. Our hope will be to offer a pickup “grab and go” service in mid-April. We will keep you posted by email. If you do not have email, please call the food bank at 203-721-0377 on April 13th for updates regarding our services.

For those of you who are seniors or immune-compromised that do not have a family member to shop for you, PLEASE let us know. We are happy to shop for you and leave your groceries at your doorstep. Please call us with your order or email us at southburyfoodbank@gmail.com.

Thank you for your understanding during this unprecedented time. We are here for you so please call us and let us know how we can help.

March 16, 2020

At this point, you should have received an email or phone call to let you know what SFB is doing to protect your health and the health of our volunteers during this coronavirus pandemic. We are unable to practice social distancing in our small space at the food bank and will be suspending our onsite operations through the end of the month. Enclosed you will find a Shoprite giftcard to help with your grocery needs for the remainder of March. We are monitoring the situation closely, and our hope is to provide you with groceries via a pickup program starting April 1st, but we will keep you posted by email. If you do not have email, please call the food bank at 203-721-0377 for recorded updates regarding our services.

If you are unable to get to Shoprite or do not have a friend/family member to go for you, please let us know and we can coordinate Shoprite at Home or have a volunteer use your giftcard to shop and deliver groceries to you.

Thank you for your understanding during this unprecedented time. We are here for you so please call us and let us know how we can help.
