Current Opportunities

Project Sharing – in order to reduce food waste, we share any leftover bread/pastry and produce with soup kitchens in Waterbury (GWIM-Greater Waterbury Interfaith Ministries and St. Vincent DePaul Mission). We need volunteers to pickup these leftovers at SFB and deliver to Waterbury (total time commitment approximately 1 hour). Available days: 2nd and 4th Wednesday of each month (pickup at SFB noon), 2nd and 4th Saturday of each month (pickup at SFB 10:30 am)

Other Ways You Can Help:
Look for our yellow tags on the shelves at Southbury grocery stores and donate an item (or two!) in the blue donation bins as you exit the store.

We rely solely on the generosity of our community! Consider mailing a donation to Southbury Food Bank P.O. Box 68 Southbury, CT 06488 or visit our website at www.southburyfoodbank.org where you can give securely online via PayPal.

Adopt-A-Shelf – Commit to “adopting” a shelf at the food bank. We will provide you with an available shelf that you can stock each month (for example, peas, rice, peanut butter, etc.). You will be responsible for collecting 40 cans/jars/boxes of that item each month and then come in to stock your shelf at the food bank. We have several families that have sponsored a shelf and depending on the item, this can be done for as little as $50.00/month!

Like our SFB Page on Facebook (Southbury Food Bank) or follow us on Twitter (SouthburyFB) – if you use social media, use these sites to keep up with food bank happenings and our critical needs.
