Adopt-A-Shelf
Thank you for considering participation in Southbury Food Bank’s Adopt-A-Shelf Program. We are grateful for the incredible impact this program has had on our organization. Adopt-A-Shelf allows us to meet our ever increasing food demands and costs while allowing local businesses, churches, community organizations, and even local families to play a vital role in keeping our shelves stocked for our clients.
How it works
We will provide you with an available shelf that you can stock each month (for example, peas, rice, peanut butter, etc.). You will be responsible for collecting 20 (or more!) cans/jars/boxes of that item each month through donations from your staff, congregation, patients, clients, customers, scouts, students, etc. You (or someone from your organization) will then drop off your items at our location on a monthly basis. A label will be placed on your shelf identifying you as that shelf’s sponsor.
Drop-off and stocking currently takes place the 2nd Saturday of each month from 11:30am-12:30pm.
If you are unable to make it, please call us at (203)721-0377 or email us at southburyfoodbank@gmail.com and we will be happy to make alternate arrangements for you.
Thank you for joining in our mission as we strive to eliminate hunger in our community!
Food Donations
If you would like to make a food donation, there are blue collection bins for non-perishable items at ShopRite and Stop-n-Shop as well as Southbury Town Hall and Social Services (in the Senior Center Building)
